It looks like the new Kingston Arena project will continue as planned, despite the recent hiccups. The Kingston Whig-Standard is reporting:

Mayor Harvey Rosen stopped a motion to kill the downtown arena in its tracks, ruling it out of order during a council meeting tonight. The decision means construction will continue on the downtown arena.

Sources had told me heading into the meeting the mayor may block the vote because this council is not allowed to undo any by-laws put in place by the previous council in its first year.

There were plenty of OHL connections to the NHL Trade Deadline Day deals.
