Sapurji: OHL's Holiday Handout...
The OHL announced today that they will be providing free webcasts for fans on Dec. 28 & 29 via their OHL Live Stream service.
...That's a nice gesture, since they usually charge $6.95 per game. I tried the live stream once to watch a game. When the video first fired up on my machine I thought I was watching the Blair Witch Project. The production values were seriously lacking and the feed was choppy. It could have been my computer, but how high-speed does your high-speed have to be in order for it to work?
Personally, I don't think I'd pay for it. Most OHL teams have radio broadcasts --- for FREE!-- and while you have to cut through a lot of the home-team bias most nights, I think the majority of the guys do a good job. But if you feel the need to watch your hockey live via computer:
You can check out the offer here.
MUSTANGS HEAD OVERSEAS: The Western Mustangs are heading over to Germany over the Christmas holidays to play some exhibition games against clubs in Europe. The team will be gone for 12 days and will also take in the sights in Amsterdam. For the sake of my beloved York Lions (nee Yeomen) hopefully the Stangs will get lost somewhere in the Black Forest(that means you too, Marcus Smith!).
