Sapurji: Hodgson signs with Canucks
Brampton Battalion star Cody Hodgson has signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Canucks.
...Hodgson was the 10th overall pick in the 2008 NHL draft and will receive the $875,000(U.S.) max plus signing bonus.
"I'm excited and it's a great organization and I'm happy to have signed with them," Hodgson told the Vancouver Province. "It's nice to have their belief in me and that they think I'm worth the money.
Hodgson is not expected to suit up for tonight's exhibition game between the Canucks and Anaheim Ducks. From the sounds of it, Hodgson might be returned to Brampton at the end of this week.
Though Canucks head coach Alain Vigneault has had high praise for the forward.
"I thought that every step he took from rookie to our level, he was able to follow the pace," Vigneault told reporter Jason Botchford. "Obviously, there's a little seasoning that needs to take place and that comes with playing games. So, we've got to make a decision in the next little while."
