Sapurji: Pietrangelo wins war of words with Ellis
KINGSTON,ONT --- In Kingston for the OHL all-star festivities, though more importantly, the season premiere of LOST airs tonight. OMG biggest night ever.
...Don't worry I'm going to be watching via slingbox during the OHL old-timers alumni game.
This afternoon there was a media-player introduction session held at historic Fort Frontenac, in the Officers Mess. What a beautiful building, and it was extremely generous of the great men and women serving in Canada's armed forces to open up their "home" to us.
There was a funny moment after all the players were introduced as the team captains from the East and the West were asked to come up and say a few words.
First up was captain Ryan Ellis, of the Windsor Spitfires, who told the handful of reporters that the East was going down to defeat and how superior and awesome the Western Conference's team was.
Next up was Barrie Colts defenceman and Eastern Conference captain Alex Pietrangelo who calmly walked up to the mic and said: "I don't know if we'll be bad, but I know we won't be as bad as (Ellis') neck beard!"
If any of you have seen the alleged beard Ellis has been trying to cultivate, you know that Petro zinger landed like a Kyle Neuber right hook. Ouch.
Poor kid, Ellis was a very good sport though.
So in the pre-skills skills, you've been served Chirping Competition:
Eastern Conference 1 Western Conference: 0
