Doyle: Plymouth will have home ice in Round 1

Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds fans went home happy Friday night, but the Plymouth Whalers were snickering under their breath when all was said and done.

By virtue of earning a point in the 2-1 overtime loss to the Greyhounds, the Whalers locked up the fourth seed in the Western Conference and will have the extra home game in the opening round series against Sault Ste. Marie. But this could be quite a series as the Whalers and Greyhounds split the season series during the regular season in six games.
