This same scenario happens many times on many weekends, this just ended up as being the wrong place at the wrong time.

As Sunaya said, if it happened closer to home, they probably would have just been thrown in a cruiser and dropped off on their front lawn. That's pretty much what happens in most small towns when parties get out of hand yet they are not hurting anyone else. Part of the difference here is that if you're renting a swanky place, they expect a higher standard because they don't want their other guests to not come back. If they just rented a banquet hall or something that they could have all to themselves nothing happens. There is nothing to indicate this party went anything beyond the realm of many other parties.

Depending on how the cops handled it, if they kicked them off the property, where were they supposed to go? We're talking middle of nowhere here and they were smart enough to know they couldn't drive, or somebody made arrangements in advance to make sure nobody could get behind the wheel. A disorderly conduct charge is a lot easier to deal with than DUI, nevermind what damage a DUI can cause to yourself and others.

I wouldn't call it a major highway, considering it's cutting through Lutsen, we're probably talking traffic not much faster than a city street. While I have not been through this area, it sounds like if you were dropped off on Highway 17 somewhere between Sudbury and Sault Ste. Marie. What are you supposed to do? Probably try and flag down a ride since I don't think you'll find too many cabs in the area. The best bet would have been if they chartered a bus to shuttle everyone to and from there. They could have just woken up the driver and said "Alright, take us home".

This is an area where they publish the names of everyone caught speeding in the paper. Doesn't that seem a little excessive? Gives you a bit of a sense of what they were dealing with.

Chalk it up to Boys will be Boys, but when it's Marc or Jordan's turn, pick a better spot.

What is up with the highway stuff.

Now that's pretty scarey standing alongside a major highway no doubt making gestures at people going bye.

Chalk this one up to Very Dumb.

Most of you know when staying at thise places can be a challenge in a good night but when a party shows up forget about getting any sleep.

Not sure what it is but when people check into hotels they leave the brains in the car.

I agree. Even if it had cost them $1,000 in cab fare back to Thunder Bay, it would have been worth it to save on lawyers fees and bad PR.

I think the brothers (between them) could BUY the resort....maybe they should have rented the whole place out; then the only people they would bother is invited guests.

And after getting kicked out could have scraped together cab fare, or get a room somewhere else to sleep it off.
