Former NHL and AHL coach Robbie Ftorek was unveiled as the new head coach of the Erie Otters this evening. He’s replacing Peter Sidorkiewicz as the new man behind the bench of the 3-12-0-0 Otters.

There is always that argument between Most Valuable Player versus Most Outstanding Player. The Red Tilson Trophy is awarded to the Most Outstanding Player in the OHL. But if I was to make a vote for the player deemed most valuable to his team in the OHL at this point in the season, the choice would be easy right now.
Doyle: Otters add Lyon Messier
The Erie Otters have brought in overager Lyon Messier, who had been trying to land a spot in the Western Hockey League. He is the son of soon-to-be Hall of Famer Mark Messier.
