Doyle: Whalers at Spitfires postponed
As expected, Thursday night's OHL game between the Windsor Spitfires and Plymouth Whalers has been postponed due to the death of Spitfires captain Mickey Renaud. The league has also announced that all players will wear an "18" on their helmet for the remainder of the season in honour of Renaud. The Spitfires will also wear a special crest on their jersey to honour their captain.

The Windsor Spitfires have announced the passing of captain Mickey Renaud. The 19-year-old collapsed at home this morning and was rushed to hospital, but lifesaving efforts were unsuccessful.
Doyle: Otters Director of Operations steps down
Erie Otters Director of Operations Ron Sertz has stepped down from the position. He will remain a minority owner with the club. He has been in the position since the franchise moved from Niagara Falls 12 years ago.

After last week's story on OHL referee Terry Hobor and the Majors teaming up to fight breast cancer, I received a nice email from Don Moon, who is the business manager of the Grande Prairie Storm of the Alberta Junior Hockey League.
Sapurji: York bounced by Western
It's difficult to type this through the tears, as the York Lions (nee Yeomen) were swept out of the OUA playoffs this afternoon by the mauve misery from Western Ontario.
