In response to: Sapurji: Cowick says Gaunce's act 'not a masculine thing to do'

Sunaya SAPURJI [Member]
Cowardly or not, Gaunce goaded Cowick and ended up putting the Majors on the power play on which they scored to take a 3-0 lead... how is that dumb? I'm pretty sure Gaunce will take a victory to force a Game 7 over any criticism regarding his character.

Why is it smart to drop the gloves when the linesman get there? If you don't want to go, that's fine, don't go. But, dropping the gloves once the linesman are there is not smart, it's cowardly.

In response to: Sapurji: Majors outlast Petes to take Game 1

Terry DOYLE [Member]
Penalty shot was definitely the turning point in the game. Flick does not score and the Petes maintain momentum. Peterborough can go home with the confidence of knowing they can play with the Majors. Game 2 should decide this series.

If the voodoo does not work there is always the good ol' standby of a Brian Drumm seance circa 1996.

Jigsaw, you have to say something really good - or keep talking after getting a 10 to get a game misconduct. It's the gamer that gets you the 2 games.

Gotta wonder why Daniel Maggio got a suspension last week for his abuse of official. He must of said something really dirty ...

That's exactly what those misconducts are - they're just 10's. Verbal abuse of official is basically what it means, the usual 10's for mouthing off. It's just a coding thing on the gamesheets. All the Majors returned to the game. I know I was calling for 10's to be called about a week ago, but looking at this gamesheet it appears somebody wearing stripes was in a bad mood.

In response to: Sapurji: IceDogs rumours? Don't believe the hype

The Jack probably sn't the bes tplace for the team, I doubt the dressing room and other facilities are on par with the GM Centre (which is great, toured it with the Burkes & city councillors in the fall)but for the fans it's a great place and i doubt we'll get that same feeling in a new barn.

but we do need a new arena for the long term and to try and lure other big events.

I can't wait for tonight. Flipped between the Ice Dogs and Team Canada nice tight games for both teams.

I hope the Ice Dogs can keep 7th going into the playoffs.

I love a close playoff race.

I don't know, I was in economy with the rest of the unwashed masses... where I paid $4 for a horrible coffee and a decent muffin. I'll have to ask one of the big-time reporters who took the free ticket.

Hi Sunaya good job on deadline stuff. You and Terry along with the other beat reporters put in many hours covering our league and it doesn't go un-noticed.

Have a Tims on a day like today.

Question, this move with Zac outta here seems strange by Hunter standards. They don't make lateral moves so is Desouza insuance to score goals for bigger names likely on the move.

Or does he even stay in London.

Prior to joining the Star, Sunaya worked in television, covered Tier II Jr. A hockey, university hockey (CIAU) and hosted an OHL radio show. She graduated from York University with degrees in English and Mass Communication.

As a youngster she followed the OHL's Toronto Marlies and her favourite player --Brian Collinson.

"I was 10 years old and he signed an autograph for me - automatically making him my favourite player," she recalled. "He's probably selling insurance now."

Sunaya has also done freelance work for ESPN Magazine and a number of U.S. papers. As a proud Canadian, she is also a big supporter of Tim Hortons coffee, which she consumes daily and in large amounts.
