Sapurji: Lowly OHL reporter, even lowlier
This has been bothering me since Tuesday night. When I was at the General Motors Centre for Game 3 of the Oshawa-Kingston series I met a young usher who was in the journalism program at Durham College.
Sapurji: Ryder helps Whalers to Round 2
Plymouth Whalers general manager and head coach Mike Vellucci took a calculated risk in early January brining in Daniel Ryder from the Peterborough Petes at the trade deadline.
Sapurji: Intermission Musings @ Guelph
Since Terry is taking care of the game details and my lowly OHL computer can't seem to handle the wireless here in Guelph, I've been banished to the intermissions.
Anyway, here are my random thoughts so far...2nd Period Thoughts
Sapurji: Generals 7 Kingston 4
The OHL playoffs never cease to amaze me. Every year I see something I’ve never seen before.
Last night during Oshawa’s 7-4 win over Kingston, I witnessed the Generals score not one, but two short-handed goals while the Frontenacs held a 5-on-3 man advantage.
Sapurji: Yesterday's recap
The Kingston Frontenacs are in tough down 2-0 to the Oshawa Generals in their Eastern Conference quarter-final, much to the dismay of my co-worker Chris S.
Sapurji: To Serve and Protect Celebrity?
There was an interesting story in yesterday’s London Free Press regarding London Knights head coach Dale Hunter and his court trial. Hunter is charged with two counts of drunk driving stemming from an incident on July 24, 2006.
Happy Colbert Day
Happy Stephen Colbert Day!
If you like free cake, Dr. Pepper and hardcore right-wing neocon political views then the city of Oshawa is the place to be today to celebrate the greatness of Stephen Colbert.
Sapurji: AHL's Rockford Files
The AHL announced today that the league has approved the sale and relocation of the dormant Cincinnati Mighty Ducks franchise to Rockford, Ill.
Sapurji: Mem Cup & Hot Girls in Love
Everyone's watching, to see what you will do
Vancouver, everyone's looking at you, oh.
Everybody's working for the weekend, so they can afford to head to this year’s Memorial Cup.
Not for the hockey -- but to see LOVERBOY!
Sapurji: ECHL musings...
I didn't think I'd have anything more to add to the blog today, until I changed the channel to WYHB and their broadcast of tonight's East Coast Hockey League game between the Gwinnett Gladiators and the Florida Everblades.
Sapurji: A Little Southern Comfort
In keeping with the Southern experience here in Georgia, I'm currently watching the Dukes of Hazzard reunion special on CMT.
Right now the Duke boys are skinnin' rattlers for "snake soup" to serve at Daisy's wedding. I've spent a lot of time in the south and I've never heard of snake soup.
Sapurji: The Mem Cup quest
I've heard the weather back home in Toronto is pretty bad right now. Cold, windy and snowy. That's unfortunate.
The weather in the Atlanta area has been awwwwwwwwesome.
Sapurji: Rogers Redux
This is my first cross-border blog, as I'm typing this from the beautiful state of Georgia. The weather is awesome -- not a snowflake in sight.
But enough about that...
Sapurji: Enough of Ryan Cryin'
Am I the only person tired of seeing Ryan Smyth cry?
Watching Hockey Night in Canada tonight, I think I have now seen footage of the new Islanders acquisition bawl his eyes out at the Edmonton airport for the 50th time. It’s getting old.
Sapurji: Rogers train wreck TV
What the heck did I just see?
Those of you who have been reading my blogs - here and elsewhere - know my utter disdain for the Rogers OHL Prime Time segments titled “Fan in the Stands”. They are, in one word: useless.
Sapurji: Downie's silence says a lot
Steve Downie is keeping quiet these days after being slapped with an eight game suspension by the OHL.
"No comment there," the Kitchener Rangers forward told the K-W Record. "I'm not going to talk."
Oshawa @ St. Mikes -- Postponed
The OHL has postponed tonight's game between the Oshawa Generals and the St. Michael’s Majors because of severe weather in the GTA.
Anyone who has been outside today knows it's NASTY --lotsa snow, freezing rain and wind. It was the kind of drive into work where I was glad to be behind the wheel of a 4x4.
The game has been rescheduled for Tuesday, March 6, 2007, at 7:30 p.m., at St. Michael's Arena.
