Sapurji: Video Judgement Day
Let me preface this posting by saying, I'm not a genius.
The mere fact I make my living as a lowly OHL reporter should be proof enough I'm not the brightest bulb in the box. But I know when something ain't quite right.
Tonight's Attack Game Cancelled
The OHL has announced that tonight’s game in Owen Sound between the Attack and the Peterborough Petes has been postponed due to poor weather conditions. A rescheduled date for the game will be announced in the near future.
Sapurji: York owns Guelph
While Terry is out hobnobbing with millionaire NHLers and living the high life in the Phillips Arena press box, I was out freezing my assets off at Canlan Ice Sports on the campus of York U on Saturday.
Condolences to the Phillips Family
We were shocked to find out yesterday about the sudden passing of former Plymouth Whaler Jeff Phillips in an accident on Sunday. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his parents Jeff and Denise, brother Steve and the rest of the Phillips family.
Here's the visitation and funeral notice from the Whalers.
Sapurji: Legein's back soon & a Dutch treat...
I was able to take a break from the Leaf chaos yesterday and talk to Niagara IceDogs winger Stefan Legein, who always makes for a fun interview. There are never any cookie cutter quotes when you're talking to him.
Sapurji: Hockey Night in Oshawa
After braving some freak snow squalls in the GTA last night I made it out to see the Oshawa Generals host the Sarnia Sting.
Sapurji: Emmerton gets green light
Brampton forward Cory Emmerton made his return to the Battalion lineup last night against the Mississauga Majors after sitting out nine OHL games with mono.
Sapurji: Cameron looks towards future...
Just got off the phone with Majors head coach and GM Dave Cameron just prior to their game against the Brampton Battalion tonight.
Sapurji: Too quiet on the Eastern front?
I came into work yesterday and the first thing I saw was the little red light flashing on my voice mail. I may complain about the craziness surrounding the trade deadline, but secretly it's fun.
Sapurji: Emmerton update
Here's just something quick since there are a slew of phone calls I have to return and things are going a mile a minute... y'know I should really switch to decaf.
Sapurji: I SO need a coffee right now...
If anyone is in the vicinity of the Toronto Star building please feel free to pick me up a large two cream, one sweetener from Tim Hortons... What? More trades? No please, my ears are hurting and I'm tired...
Sapurji: Jarram caught by numbers
Speaking with Oshawa Generals coach and GM Brad Selwood tonight he confirmed that forward David Jarram would be the player caught in the Gens OA crunch.
Sapurji: Another Motor City move?
We have learned that the Oshawa Generals have completed another trade beyond the Kevin Baker deal with Sudbury. This deal is currently pending league approval, which may come tonight or may have to wait until tomorrow morning. We will update this when we get further details.
Sapurji: Mason called up, get well soon Leclaire
Goaltender Steve Mason will have to wait a few more days to suit up for the Kitchener Rangers, after being called up by his NHL club, the Columbus Blue Jackets, today.
Sapurji: Fronts trade Sciacca to Gens
The Kingston Frontenacs have sent 19-year-old defenceman Jonathan Sciacca to the Oshawa Generals in exchange for a 4th round pick in the 2010 draft.
Sapurji: Attack release Mrksic
The Owen Sound Attack have released forward/defenceman Peter Mrksic. The 19-year-old appeared in 15 games this season with 0 goals and 1 assist. Mrksic will now re-join the Georgetown Raiders of the OPJHL.
Sapurji: Attack ink Metcalfe
The Owen Sound Attack signed Georgetown Raiders (OPJHL)defenceman Spencer Metcalfe today.
